BMW Radio (MID) unit removal:
1. Pull out the
volume knob.
2. Look in the
opening to locate a little torx screw at six o'clock position.
3. Use a torx
screw driver to turn it clock-wise for about 45 degree (you will hear the
MID panel unclicked).
4. Using a screw
driver pull the whole front panel away from dashboard.
5. Unplug
connector from harness.
BMW Instrument Cluster removal (E53 or X5)
1. Insert key
into ignition and move steering wheel as far as possible from instrument
cluster.
2. Use a torx
screw driver to remove two screws from the top side of plastic bezel.
3. Using a screw
driver carefully bend bezel for about 10 degree and pull the instrument
cluster forward.
4. Remove key
from ignition lock. Be ready steering wheel will start to move to it's
default position!
5. Unplug
connectors from the harness.
BMW Instrument Cluster removal (E38/39 or
7/5-series)
1. Move steering
wheel as far as possible from instrument cluster.
2. Use a screw
driver or other convenient tool to remove two wood grain plates from the
both sides of steering wheel.
3. Remove two
bottom and two top torx screws to free the plastic bezel.
4. Locate two
extra screw on top of instrument cluster and remove it.
5. Pull the
instrument cluster forward and use a screw driver or other convenient tool
to remove .
Audi A4/A6/Allroad Instrument Cluster removal
1. Move the
steering wheel out and down of the way.
2. Using hands
carefully remove plastic cover from the bottom of instrument cluster.
3. Locate two
torx screw on the bottom of cluster.
4. Use a screw
driver or other convenient tool to remove cluster forward from it's room.
5. Unplug
connectors from the harness.
Audi TT Instrument Cluster removal
Advise with your
local mechanic as it is not easy procedure.
