Description
If you own a late 90s or early 2000s BMW, you are likely familiar with the dreaded “Trifecta” of dashboard lights: the ABS, DSC/Traction, and Brake warning lights illuminating simultaneously. When accompanied by a dead speedometer, this almost always points to a failure of the Bosch 5.7 ABS control module. Instead of spending a fortune at the dealership for a new unit that requires complex coding, our bmw e39 abs module repair service offers a permanent, factory-quality rebuild of your original part.
Understanding the Bosch 5.7 ABS Failure
Mounted directly to the hydraulic pump in the engine bay, the Bosch 5.7 ABS module is exposed to extreme heat cycles and engine vibrations. Over time, the microscopic silver bonding wires inside the computer break away from the circuit board. When these connections fail, the module can no longer read the wheel speed sensors or communicate with the vehicle’s engine computer (DME).
Our expert technicians open your sealed unit and completely rebuild these internal connections using upgraded, heavy-duty materials that far exceed factory specifications. By utilizing our bmw e53 abs repair service, you keep your original module, which means it remains perfectly coded to your vehicle’s VIN. Just bolt it back on, and your dashboard will be clear!
Common Drivability Symptoms We Fix
If your BMW is experiencing any of the following issues, our Bosch 5.7 rebuild service will resolve them:
- The “Trifecta” Lights: ABS, Brake, and Traction Control (DSC) lights are permanently illuminated.
- Dead Speedometer: The speedometer drops to zero while driving, and the MPG gauge stops working.
- Sensor Codes: Persistent wheel speed sensor codes (especially the rear-left) that return immediately even after replacing the sensor.
- No Communication: Diagnostic scanners cannot read or connect to the ABS module.
- Pressure Faults: Unresolvable brake pressure sensor faults.

Important Shipping & Terms
To safely utilize this service and save on shipping, DO NOT ship the heavy hydraulic pump assembly. Remove the 6 Torx screws to separate the electronic computer from the pump and send the module only. After reinstalling the repaired unit, you may need an OBD2 scanner to clear the historic DTCs from the computer’s memory.
Note: If your module has been severely damaged by fire, a major collision, or prior botched repair attempts, it may be deemed unrepairable. Unrepairable computers will be returned with a refund, minus an $80 diagnostic fee and return shipping costs.
