Description
If you own a 2007-2017 General Motors vehicle (GMC, Chevrolet, or Cadillac), experiencing a sudden failure of your ABS and Traction Control systems is incredibly common. The issue usually presents itself with a dashboard full of warning lights, a completely dead speedometer, and diagnostic scanners returning the dreaded Code C056D – “Control Unit Internal Fault.” Dealerships will often tell you that you need a brand-new, extremely expensive ABS module that requires complex programming. Our gm abs module repair service offers a cost-effective, permanent, and plug-and-play alternative.
Fixing the GM / ATE ABS Module
During these model years, GM utilized an ABS EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) manufactured by ATE. Positioned in the engine bay, this module is constantly subjected to extreme temperatures, moisture, and vibration. Over time, the internal micro-circuitry and communication chips degrade and fail. This breaks the communication link between the ABS computer, the wheel speed sensors, and the main Engine Control Module (ECM).
With our chevy ebcm module rebuild service, our engineers carefully open your original ABS computer, locate the failing circuitry, and rebuild it using upgraded, heavy-duty components that outlast the factory specifications. Because we are repairing your exact original module, it retains all of its unique VIN and software configurations. Once you receive the repaired unit, simply bolt it back on and plug it in—no expensive dealer programming or Tech2 calibration is required!
Common Drivability Symptoms We Fix
- Warning Lights: The ABS, StabiliTrak, and Traction control lights remain permanently illuminated.
- Dead Speedometer: The speedometer drops to zero and stops working entirely while driving.
- No Communication: Diagnostic scanners cannot read or connect to the ABS computer at all.

Important Shipping Instructions & Terms
To safely utilize this service and save significantly on shipping costs, DO NOT ship the entire metal hydraulic ABS pump. Carefully remove the Torx screws to separate the black plastic electronic control module from the pump block, and send the computer only. After reinstalling the repaired module, use an OBD2 scanner to clear the old historic DTCs from the system’s memory before driving.
